Producer: Kiryama Wet Mill
Process: Fully Washed
Variety: Bourbon, Jackson, & Mibirizi
Tasting Notes: Peach, Green Grape, & Ceylon Tea
This coffee comes to us from the Kiryama Wet Mill in Kayanza, Burundi. Burundi is a small landlocked country in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. This lot, named Indoto, is comprised of a small sorting of coffee taken from the middle portion of Kiryama’s main harvest. “Indoto” is translated as “Dreams” in the local Kirundi language. Each year harvest, approximately 3,500 local smallholder farmers bring their coffee to Kiryama for processing.
Hints of lavender and peach tea are present in the coffee’s fragrance and aroma. In the cup, the peach note intensifies and evolves into a green grape characteristic. A mouth-wateringly juicy body and crisp acidity carry the cup into a delicately tea-like drying finish.
