  • About this Coffee: Upholding a family tradition, Andrés Cardona has immersed himself in the coffee industry from the age of 12. Currently, he manages his uncle's farm, Villa Lucía, where he cultivates various coffee varieties. Andrés is an active member in the Young Producer Program. This initiative was designed by our sourcing partners, Unblended, to mentor and support young individuals entering the coffee production industry to establish their own businesses. Andrés' dedication drives him to experiment with innovative coffee processing techniques, always on the lookout for fresh approaches to distinguish his coffee. Luna Azul translates to “Blue Moon.” In Andrés’ own words, “It will take you to the moon.” The unique flavor profile of this coffee is achieved through a meticulous process. After a week of fermentation in open tanks, the coffee is depulped without water, ensuring the retention of mucilage. From there, the coffee is carefully laid out on raised drying beds for a duration of 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the weather conditions at the farm, until they reach an optimal moisture level of 11%. This method contributes to the creation of a sweeter cup. In the cup we experience notes of concord grape, a jammy sweetness, and black cherry.
