  • About this Coffee: We’re fortunate to welcome back El Zapotal for the second consecutive year. It is through our partnership with Primavera Coffee Importers that we were capable of doing this. El Zapotal is located in the town of San Antonio Huista in the village of El Coyegual in the municipality of Huehuetenango. Ambrocio Ervin de Leon is a first generation coffee producer. He purchased a parcel of land after working abroad to save enough money to purchase the farm. He began by sowing the land and included shade trees to create a natural canopy for the coffee plants. One of those trees is the zapote tree which is how the farm got its name. Ambrocio’s goal is to continue improving the quality of his coffee to increase the profitability of his main source of income. In the cup we taste milk chocolate, hazelnut, and baked orange.
