  • About this Coffee: Andrea Domingo is a third-generation coffee producer from Petatán, Huehuetenango. Her grandfather was the one who first introduced coffee to their family farm, Buena Vista, which had previously been dedicated to growing crops like corn and beans. In March of this year, we had the chance to meet Andrea, who shared with us about the agricultural and social challenges her family faces brought on by climate change and the rising costs of coffee production. Andrea's husband relocated to the U.S. for work, and she, along with the other women in the family and her grandfather, has taken charge of running the farm. During the harvest, Andrea hires workers to help handpick the coffee, which is then transported down the mountain by horse to the Domingo home, where the coffee cherries are depulped, sorted, and washed by hand. We are grateful for Andrea’s hospitality during our visit, and we are excited to share her coffee once again this year.
