- About this Coffee:
Bekele Kechara is a single farmer and coffee producer working with 150 small farmers around Murago-Bensa. Bekele’s farm is 1.5 hectares. That’s equivalent to 2.4 acres. Primavera and Bekele have been working together for over five years, and it's clear their partnership is strong. They've consistently achieved great results, thanks to their shared dedication and commitment to quality.
Harvest begins only when the coffee cherries have ripened to a vibrant, appealing shade of red. This coloration signals the optimal sugar content and flavor development within the fruit. The cherries undergo an initial pre-sorting process. Following pre-sorting, the selected cherries are carefully spread out on raised African drying beds. During this drying period, the cherries are regularly turned by hand to ensure consistent exposure to sunlight and air.
Throughout drying, moisture checks are performed. Once the ideal moisture level is achieved, another round of defect sorting takes place. Finally, after passing all quality control measures, the processed coffees are carefully transferred to a secure warehouse for storage.
